Nantucket Season 2026: What’s Opening, What’s New, and Where to Stock Up Before the Crowds Hit
Nantucket’s 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the best yet — and if you’re planning a visit (or you’re a year-rounder gearing up for the summer rush), now is the time to start. Ferries book up fast, rental properties disappear by April, and the island’s best experiences reward early planners.
At Ack Natural, Nantucket’s only locally owned and locally grown cannabis dispensary, we’ve been watching the island wake up from its quiet winter — and we couldn’t be more ready. Whether you’re a first-timer curious about cannabis on Nantucket or a returning regular who already knows us, here’s your complete guide to making the most of 2026 season on island.
When Does the Nantucket Season Start in 2026?
The unofficial kickoff is the Nantucket Daffodil Festival, April 23–26 — the island’s annual signal that summer is coming. By Memorial Day weekend (May 22–25), Nantucket is fully in season: shops are open, restaurants are staffed, and the beaches start filling up.
If you want Nantucket at its most peaceful, early May and late September are the sweet spots — warm enough to enjoy, far fewer crowds, and most businesses (including us) are open and ready. That’s when locals really love it — and when the dispensary is a little less hectic too.
What’s Happening on Nantucket in 2026?
The event calendar this year is stacked. Here’s what to plan around:
- April 23–26: Daffodil Festival (50th anniversary — bigger than ever)
- May 14–18: Nantucket Wine & Food Festival
- May 22–25: Figawi Race Weekend (Memorial Day)
- June 15–18: Nantucket Book Festival
- July 7–9: Nantucket Garden Festival
- August 8: Boston Pops at Jetties Beach
- August 12–16: Nantucket Race Week & Opera House Cup
Big weekends like Figawi and the Daffodil Festival mean a full island. If you’re visiting for those events, stop by Ack Natural early in the weekend — we see a rush and our most popular products (infused pre-rolls, edibles, and our local flower) can sell out. We’re open 10am–7pm daily (until 8pm Fridays and Saturdays) at 19 Spearhead Dr, right next to Nantucket Memorial Airport.
How to Get to Nantucket — and Get to Us
Most visitors arrive by ferry from Hyannis (Hy-Line or Steamship Authority) or fly into ACK — Nantucket Memorial Airport, where Ack Natural is located right next door. The fast ferry takes about an hour; the traditional ferry is 2+ hours but allows you to bring your car. Book both early — the fast ferry sells out weeks ahead on summer weekends.
Arriving by air? We’re the first stop you can make on island. Coming off the ferry in town?
What Cannabis Products Are Perfect for a Nantucket Summer?
Massachusetts has legal recreational cannabis, and Nantucket has one of the best dispensaries — Ack Natural. Here’s what we’re loving for the season:
For the Beach
Our Sour Diesel and Durban Poison sativa strains are perfect for an active, energized beach day. Grab a pre-roll or pick up some of our locally grown flower — we’re the only dispensary on the island that grows its own cannabis right here in Nantucket.
For sleep and Winding Down
After a long day on the water, our “Asleep” Cloudberry edibles (formulated with CBN, CBD, and CBG alongside THC) are designed to help you drift into a proper night’s rest. Island time hits different when you actually sleep well. We also offer Zzonked by Nova Farms.
For Social Gatherings
Our “Chill” fruit chews, We call them Nantucket Reds — a 4:1 CBG to THC ratio — are made for a laid-back day with friends. Subtle, social, and island-appropriate.
For Something Special
Our Lobster Rolls infused pre-rolls are a Nantucket exclusive — 1g and 2g infused with Kief and flower in a hemp cone with a glass cooling tip. They’re the cheapest Lobster Roll on Nantucket, and probably the most memorable.
We also carry off-island favorites from Jeeter, Fernway, Nova Farms, Buzzy, and Cape Cod Grow Labs for those who have their go-to brands.
What First-Time Visitors Should Know
Nantucket is an island — everything costs more and requires more planning. Rent bikes or a Jeep for getting around, bring layers even in July (the Atlantic keeps things cooler than the mainland), and explore the cobblestoned downtown on foot.
First time visiting a cannabis dispensary in Massachusetts? Here’s what to know:
- You must be 21+ for recreational purchases (or have a valid MA medical card)
- Bring a valid ID — we check everyone
- You can purchase up to 1 ounce of flower per transaction recreationally
- Cannabis cannot be consumed in public — use it on private property
- We offer online ordering so your order is ready when you arrive — no wait, no hassle
Our budtenders are here to help, not to overwhelm. If you’re new to cannabis or just new to what we carry, tell us your goal — relaxation, sleep, focus, socializing — and we’ll match you with the right product.
Ounces as Low as $150 — Best Value on the Cape and Islands
We often get asked: why visit a dispensary on Nantucket when I could buy off-island? Simple — you can’t take cannabis on the ferry or plane, and we price competitively. Our locally grown ounces start at $150, and we have 17+ cultivars in rotation including Wedding Cake, MAC 1, Mimosa, Durban Poison, Sour Diesel and more.
