Nantucket's live music calendar eases up a touch this week — no headliner at The Muse — but there's still a full week of live music on Nantucket between Cisco Brewers, the Chicken Box, and a Monday-night show at the Dreamland. And if you're the planning-ahead type, mark your calendar now: the Chicken Box just landed the biggest booking of early September. Here's the full rundown, venue by venue.

Where's the best live music on Nantucket this week?

The Muse is dark this week (its next show is Better Than Ezra on Sept 5), so the spotlight shifts to Foggy Roots at the Dreamland on Monday night and a two-night run from Felly at the Chicken Box, Aug 25–26. Cisco Brewers, as always, has something free every single day.

Monday night: Foggy Roots at the Dreamland

The Dreamland's Harborview Concert Series kicks the week off with Foggy Roots — the island's much-loved reggae/rock band — playing your favorite songs and greatest hits from across the decades. Free live music in the Surf Bar most nights, 8–10pm. The prior rotation ran through Jacob & Jackson on Aug 23, and this week's act hadn't been posted as of this writing — the lineup shifts week to week, so confirm at their Instagram or events page.

Something different: sunset sea shanty cruise

Nantucket by Water's Sunset Cruise with the Shanty Singers runs every Tuesday through September 8, departing Straight Wharf, Slip #1011 — a 90-minute harbor cruise with live local musicians leading sea shanties. This week that's Tuesday, Aug 25. Book at nantucketbywater.com.

Mark your calendar: The Elovaters at the Chicken Box, Sept 1–2
